Birthday Girl! Part 1

Pink chocolate minis for a birthday party this weekend 🙂  Part 2 will be another batch next week for her actual birthday!

Carrot cake cupcakes (a.k.a.  Rabbit Trail), featuring a unique blend of crushed pineapple, applesauce, carrots, and walnuts, with my signature cream cheese frosting (with hints of lemon and white chocolate).  Also requested were my Pecan Pie cupcakes.  It was a nice change of pace to do full-size cupcakes for a change, I’ve done so many minis lately!

Whew! A sea of minis!

Tonight’s project was a a variety of minis that I’ll be bringing to a church potluck tomorrow.  In case you’re wondering, I don’t just randomly make 96 cupcakes to bring to a potluck :-p  I’m not that obsessed 🙂  It was a coordinated thing, and aside from a couple sheet cakes, attendees were asked to not bring any desserts and I agreed to fill the rest of the dessert table with cupcakes.  Yay!!  After much deliberation I decided on the flavors of strawberry, orange dreamsicle, banana cream pie, and caramel pecan pie.  Several hours, one messy kitchen, and one minor cramp in my piping hand later….I have a sea of cupcakes!

More fun with Bananas!

Have I mentioned lately the popularity of my banana cream pie cupcakes?  The proof is in the puddin’…or cupcake.  So since you’ve already seen this one plenty of times in it’s natural form, I decided to have a little fun with my camera, since my other love is photography.  Behold the power of the macro lens 🙂
